iArt colors the streets of the municipalities of the Ficuzza area and the Sosio Valley.
The IART FIVAS project is progressing at full speed, bringing a fresh and colorful breath of contemporary art to eight Sicilian municipalities: Bisacquino Campofiorito, Corleone, Chiusa Sclafani, Mezzojuso, Palazzo Adriano, Prizzi and Roccamena. Through the creation of site-specific works and cultural events, the initiative aims to enhance local heritage, promote dialogue between different artistic expressions and stimulate reflection on the present and future.

A tribute to Mario Francese and Sicilian traditions
In Campofiorito, the artist Artez – Andrej Zikic created a work dedicated to the figure of Mario Francese, a journalist and writer involved in the fight against the mafia. Through the representation of a tense and bare back, Mat symbolizes the strength and vulnerability of Francese, a man who dedicated his life to defending truth and justice.

Belonging and Memory: Past and Present
In Prizzi, Gianfranco Abramo with “Appartenenze” tells the story of an emigrant girl and her return to her roots after generations. The work symbolizes the sense of belonging and the search for one’s identity.

Women at work
In Mezzojuso, Mapecoo with “Semi d’oro” draws inspiration from the film “Parabola d’oro” to represent the manual work of women in the fields. The work celebrates the effort and dedication of the Sicilian people and conveys a new sense of strength to the female figure.

Between good and evil
Mikhail Albano with “Ballo dei Diavoli” brings to the stage a Prizzi folklore tradition linked to Easter. The work represents the struggle between good and evil, the triumph of life over death and the rebirth of nature.

A reference to the roots
At Palazzo Adriano, however, Danilo Neve Pistone drew inspiration from the film “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” for his work “Il Richiamo”. The figure of a mother waiting at the table represents the indissoluble bond with her native land and the certainty that family roots always remain a safe refuge.

In Campofiorito, “Heavy Mentall” Galina Besedina with “Bread Pitt” depicting the altars of Pane di San Giuseppe, a local tradition linked to the cult of the Saint. The work celebrates popular devotion and the richness of Sicilian cultural heritage.
