FESTIVITIES, CELEBRATIONS AND CULTURAL EVENTS
During the Feast of the SS. Crucifix, on the Tuesday after Pentecost, the small wooden simulacrum of the Crucifix kept inside the church of Santa Caterina is carried in procession.
The celebrations in honor of San Carlo Borromeo usually take place in mid-August. These include the Peach Festival (the main economic product of the hamlet of San Carlo), musical, folkloristic and even sporting shows. The festival also includes a procession through the streets of the hamlet dedicated to the emigrants from San Carlo. The religious festival falls every November 4th, in honor of the Saint there is a procession and the moving of the statue depicting the Saint placed in the apse of the local church.
TERRITORIAL ITINERARIES
Chiusa Sclafani is part of the Borghi dei Tesori circuit, an Association created under the aegis of the Le Vie dei Tesori Foundation, and of the Itinerarium Rosaliae, a naturalistic-cultural-religious journey created in 2014 by the Department of Rural and Territorial Development of the Department of ‘Agriculture of Rural Development and Mediterranean Fisheries of the Sicily Region.
