Sebastiano Matarazzo, known as Seba_Mat, born in 1991, is an artist originally from Irpinia, who grew up in Novi di Modena. From an early age he represented his ideas on blank sheets of paper but, feeling the need to broaden his artistic horizons, he asked his parents for consent to use a wall of their garage on which he created his first mural, representing a hand holding a pen. With the aim of recovering ancient and classical art, Seba_Mat uses its vision and styles in an attempt to tell stories of the past, but also modern and current ones. He works as a designer for many leading brands in the international fashion scene and, in parallel, creates murals throughout Italy and abroad, participating in various festivals throughout the country.
“Acchiana u patri cu tutti i so figghi"
The artist pays homage to the games of a lost time, habits of a simple childhood and times gone by. The work brings to mind Acchiana u patri cu tutti i so cool, a fun and decidedly acrobatic game, which gave rise to moments of hilarity and sharing. One of the players arched his back, facing a wall and hands on his knees. The other players, in turn, had to jump him without touching him, like in the gym you jump the leapfrog, placing their hands on his back, shouting “Acchiana u patri cu tutti i so figghi!”. The jumper placed himself in the same position as the jumper and so on in single file. This was the nursery rhyme that was recited: “Acchiana u patri cu tutti i so figghi, quattru e quattru uottu, scarrica u buottu, l’acieddu cu li pinni, scarrica e vattinni”. Seba_Mat’s work has a decidedly contemporary style, whilst maintaining a link with the era, through colours, style and atmosphere.
