Mikhail Albano was born in Russia, at the age of five, he was adopted by a Sicilian family and moved to Leonforte with his adoptive parents. The personal and professional experiences gained over the course of life lead the artist to prefer a realist pictorial style with an obsessive attention to details and details in order to represent, through his own artistic flair, the art of beauty. But it is in the afternoon hours that the devils’ dance reaches its greatest frenzy: they want to prevent the meeting (for the Prizzese “u scontru”, the clash) between the Virgin and the risen Son. Mikhail Albano’s work places the risen Christ in the foreground and identifies him with the Tree of Life. He is the one who will always prevail in the end. But the devils and Death, undaunted, will try to hinder him again every year, in this infinite tradition.
